The Rain

June 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28
Based on the 1952 MGM film starring Gene Kelly, Donald
O'Connor & Debbie Reynolds
Screenplay by: Betty Comden & Adolph Green
Music by: Nacio Herb Brown
Lyrics by: Arthur Freed
Don Lockwood and
Lina Lamont are the darlings of the silent silver screen. Off-screen,
Don, aided by his happy-go-lucky friend and piano accompanist, Cosmo
Brown, has to dodge Lina's romantic overtures, especially when he falls
for chorus girl Kathy Selden. With the advent of sound in motion pictures,
it is decided to turn Don and Lina's new film into a talkie, and a musical
at that. The only problem is Lina's voice, which mere words cannot describe.
Thus, Kathy is brought on to dub her speaking
and singing voice in secret, and Don's on top of the world -- until
Lina finds out. The show includes show-stopping dances Singin’
in the Rain and Make ‘em Laugh.
The
Pirates of Penzance

Saturdays

Music by: W. S.
Gilbert
Lyrics by: Sir Arthur Sullivan
Frederic was
meant to be an apprentice of a pilot but his maid mistakes her master's
wish for a pirate and after many years he discovers the truth. He is
ready to leave the Pirates of Penzance when his maid, Ruth, pleads him
to take her with him. He agrees. Shortly thereafter he meets the daughters
of Major General Stanley and falls madly in love with them, rejecting
his maid. After they say “no” to loving him, the fairest
maid of all, Mabel, agrees to love him., but Frederic’s sense
of duty gets in the way. With a special appearance by the police, the
show is a rollicking masterpiece of comic mayhem.
The Music Man
Fridays and Saturdays
August
8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23
Based on a story by: Franklin Lacey
Book, Lyrics and Music by: Meredith Willson
Professor
Harold Hill likes a challenge and when the other salesmen on the train
west tell him that Iowa is the biggest test of sales ability, he gets
off at River City. Marian the librarian doesn't buy the professor's
line, but he convinces many of his other potential customers that the
new pool table that has just been placed in the billiard parlor could
mean "trouble in River City” . To keep the town's youngsters
"moral after school", Hill forms the River City Boys Band.
Includes favorite songs: Seventy Six Trombones, Gary Indiana,
and Trouble in River City.
Rain Policy
Productions presented in an outdoor venue always run the risk of complications
from weather. If it rains lightly but there is no lightning, the performance
will continue with a piano accompaniment. If it looks like the rain
will be over quickly, the performance may be stopped briefly, then continue
when the weather clears. Of course, the weather may be so severe that
the performance cannot continue. If the performance is cancelled before
it begins or is stopped before intermission, it will be considered a
"rain-out". Audience members may exchange their ticket stubs
for a ticket to a future performance of the same production. If the
last performance of a production is rained out, audience members may
exchange their ticket stubs for a ticket to a performance of the next
production. If the last performance of the final production of the season
is a rain-out, audience members may exchange their ticket stub for a
ticket to a production the following season. Performances affected by
weather after intermission are considered a "complete show".
