BIG NATIONAL NEWS!!!!!!
ITEX and BXI merged for a perfect fit and all members benefit!
By combining the #1 and #2 cashless marketplaces, ITEX now serves more than 21,000 members through 90 independently operated, locally managed broker offices and is supported by more than 350 individuals working for you! More members means more buisiness to all of us, giving us all the chance for:
* Increasing our customer base with thousands of new cusotmers
* Increase our revenue and expand our purchasing power
* Expanded variety of things to buy, and deeper pockets to insure our future.

BIG NEWS in our area!!!!!!
Beginning August 5, 2005, ITEX members in Abilene and San Angelo are part of our Lubbock/West Texas ITEX team. They will be listed in our Lubbock ITEX directory. Why? Because our Lubbock ITEX office purchased those franchises and now owns and operates those markets.
We hope that as you get familar with these members that you show them why Lubbock is in the top 20.

As many of you know, before coming to Lubbock, I owned a business in Abilene and participated in with ITEX in that business. I became so excited about this program that I went to work with Philis Santello, the broker, in building relationships with business owners and introduced them to ITEX. This makes an ideal transition for them and our office and brings strength to our organization overall.

We will be making regular by weekly visits to Abilene and San Angelo to service them along with our continued service here. At this time we are not going to set up an office in Abilene or San Angelo and believe we can service everyone well in our Lubbock office until a later date. I am looking for people that can assist us in serving these area's, so if you know of someone who wants an exciting career, let me know.

If you have business associates in these area's that you believe would qualify to participate in ITEX, we would gladly reward referrals with "CASH" and if you referred 3 new members, ITEX Corporation will waive your association fees for a full year. Wow! that's a lot of CASH in your pocket. For more information on the referral program, please contact me and I would love to give you CASH!

2005 Convention Review
This year was the most amazing year I have experienced at Convention. ITEX introduced the Check Book, Identification Cards, New ITEX online, Broker tools, New marketing program, and several new brokers to the network. I had the opportunity to sit in on round table discussions with other brokers and trade directors getting their imput on opperations, and customer service. We also had 2 increadable guest speakers. Jim Witaker was outstanding!

Convention was held in Seattle Washington this year, and many of you know that is my home town. I did get to visit with my children, grandchildren and see the beautiful North West again. Even though it was beautiful, it was great to come home to Lubbock. I was officially crowned a Texas Girl at this years convention. It was a very busy week while I was there, going to classes, meetings, discussions, but as you know the highlight of the convention is the Awards banquet.

Awards in this industry mean that you are at the top of the industry and the ITEX brokers strive all year to achieve these awards. I have been very blessed to receive many awards at conventions and this one was no different except one. ITEX Corporation awards a very special award to the broker/brokers who opperate their brokerages and service their clients to the highest standards. They award a point system for every area of the brokerage and if you meet the required points, you receive this award. It is the final award of the evening and I was busy hugging and kissing everyone for their achievements when my name was called. I was so surprised, that I was in a daze. This award is called " Circle of Excellence". I was one of 6 brokers who received this honor. ( this is the Oscar!) I am very proud of this recognition and I want to thank all the Lubbock ITEX members. It is because of you allowing me to serve you and working so hard in making Lubbock a huge success.

It has been said that if you want to stay the same, you must grow. If you want to grow, you must change, and if you want to excell, you must change and grow. All I can say is, we will excell! After all the awards, hugs, kisses, and pictures, it was off to the dance floor and then to the private ITEX poker game. ( I lost some bucks!) All in all, it was the most productive and life changing convention yet. Thank you ITEX and ITEX Brokers!

New Lubbock Office
Yes we have finally moved to our perminant location. We moved to the Plaza West Building a year ago in July and had temporarily set up office in Suite 501 on the 5th floor. That meant you had to get in the elevator and ride it up, if you didn't get stuck, to get your business done. We are so excited because No More Elevator! We are now in Suite 106 just past the elevators on the main floor. We are still getting everything put in place so please excuse the decorating mess. Thank all of you for your patients while we made this change.

ITEX CHECK BOOKS and ID CARDS
We announced in our April trade times, the creation of the ITEX checkbooks. We had our challenges with creating these books because we didn’t realize the new government laws. Sadly, we were forced to stop the production until we could make sure we met the requirements. The great news is, that ITEX Corporation has done it for us! Not only did they create a great new check book for you but they have created the ITEX Identification card.
You will receive your first supply of checks sometime this month and with your first order, your new ID cards. These are not credit or swipe cards but they will have your business inforamtion with your account number so if you happen to leave your check book at home or the office, ITEX members will still be able to authorize and process your purchases. This is exciting news! We are committed to creating the market place as easy and convenient as your every day cash transactions.

NEW Itex.com website
Look at the new ITEX.com website and spend a few minutes browsing the network. I am hearing the testimonies of Lubbock members finding products and services they needed and making the purchases very easily. But I want you to see for yourself.

Out of town sales are working for the Lubbock Fun Club!
Recently the Lubbock Fun Club was a cosponsor of the Family Fun Festival at the Civic Center. She saw another member 200 MPH in Las Vegas who printed and delivered 3,000 balloons with her logo purchased on Itex. "It was a simple transaction. I could shop at night, send an email, and get a confirmation in the morning. Now that's what I need!", she continued. Not only that, but I purchased a very nice prize that will be my gift at the silent auction for Holiday Happening and it's nice than I otherwise could have afforded.

TRADE TIPS
#1 View your ITEX trade purchases the same way you would your cash. You have the right to check prices and we highly recommend you get bids. Remember that you may not get the same discounted prices with ITEX, but keep in mind what your cost of doing business is and that you already have cash invested into your ITEX dollars. If you can get an outstanding cash price that beats your cash investment, and you have the cash, then I would buy it for cash and keep your ITEX dollars for other purchases.

#2 Make sure that when you are buying or selling out of area, online or from a member you are not familiar with, please contact your trade director to assist you in the transaction. We will verify the member that they are in good standing, asking prices, verify their funds, and call upon their broker to assure the transaction.

#3 Return phone calls. In order for us to get your needs met in a timely fashion, we need you to return calls, emails, and faxes. We need to communicate with you for your sales and purchases and many times we are held up by needing your authorizations and most of all, respond to your needs as well. We appreciate your support in making transactions quick and simple.

#4 We highly suggest that your create and update your want lists every couple weeks. The more updated your list is, the better it is for us to keep up with your emediate and long term needs. One of the ways we communicate with you is by phone. Phone calls are brieft and to the point, and sometimes we experience members being caught off guard when we ask you for new information to update your lists. We don't want to catch you off guard with nothing to add to your wants and then find out later that we had a member who could supply your need. Most of our calls are scheduled but from time to time, we pick up the phone becasue we have something you may want. Email communications are great also. They help us cut down on time and we can communicate more times throughout the day. I am surprise to find a couple members that don't have email or fax capability, owning and opperating a salon and day spa for 22 years, I didn't have use back then for these tools, but now, I know I could not do business without one or all of them. Please help us help you by using these tools of communication.

#5 Make sure that you regularly view the member directories. They are available on request at the Lubbock ITEX office or by going to ITEX.net. We do change the directory messages daily and some clients do make changes in the way they sell in the market place. A member could offer something today and not next week. We work hard to be consistant and change is needed in order to opperate a profitable business. Everyone has different costs in prividing quality products and services. In stock items may be low due to busy times and then they have overstock items in slower times. Please understand that every business owner in ITEX conduct business differently, but the ITEX rules are the same for everyone. If you need another copy of the ITEX Trading Rules or you have not reviewed it in some time, then we recommend that you do. It helps everyone be on the same page. Remember in making adjustments to your account, you must discuss these changes with your broker and give us 15 days in order to inform ITEX members of your status. It is the responsibility of your broker to inform the members and not you.

#6 Always be curtious and welcoming to another ITEX member! You are part of the elite in Lubbock and that means you had to meet some requirements in order to participate. Lubbock is always increasing the standards and if we, the members, discover that one of our members is being treated in any other way, we will discuss closing your account. It is our mission to provide the best of the best in the Lubbock, Abilene, and San Angelo markets and will maintain a higher standard.

Authorization is Recommended
It is highly recommended that you use the authorization number on your trade drafts or call the Lubbock office to verify the Itex funds before allowing merchandise or services to be conducted. We cannot be responsible for trade drafts that will not clear.
If you have an outstanding trade draft that will not clear your account, you will be notified and given 24 hours to deposit funds into your account. If funds are still not available, the selling Itex member will be notified to collect your owing balance in cash.

Scrip Cards
Scrip card purchases are final and if lost, stolen or not used by the expiraction date, they will not be refunded or replaced. There is only one condition that a scrip card will be refunded and that is if the vendor refuses to honor it or the business has closed. There are no other exceptions.
Warning: If you receive a scrip card or gift certificate that is not authorized by the Lubbock office (Carol or Samson’s signature) and stamped with the Lubbock Corporate seal, then this card is not valid. Please report to the office immediately.

A Message From Carol:
Well it’s back to school again, and we have had a very exciting summer.
We have so many wonderful announcements to share with all of you about what we have been working so hard on the past several months.

Lubbock is still in the top 20 markets throughout the ITEX network and thanks to you I was honored by ITEX Corporation at this years 2005 Awards with the "Circle of Excellence" award - the highest award they give to any broker.
I am very proud of Lubbock and with the high honors given to us, the whole industry is taking notice of our achievements.

I want to congratulate all of the members that had participated in helping us set a higher standard and helping us accomplish the goals we had set out to do.
