Friends of the Library Half price Booklovers sale
is the Saturday from 9 to 5 in the Basement of Mahon Library at 1306 9th St. downtown across from the Civic Center. Open to anyone. This is a big sale and even includes the better books.

Private Estate Sale for Fun Club Members
Friday and Saturday only.
This immaculate home is located at 3816 48th and they will open the home for our shopping on Friday - 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. - and on Saturday - 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (these times only). Items include romantic victorian medallion back furniture, marble table tops, nick nacks, couch, waterford, towels/linen sets, limoges, and decorative items. Prices range from one to one thousand dollars and they will consider offers on bigger items.

Trunk Show at Hodgepodge
A collection of hand-tooled leather purses, belts, wrist cuffs, and wrist cuff watches designed by local artist Brenda Watts will be displayed at a trunk show 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday, February 10th and Saturday, February 11th, at Hodgepodge Design, 2703-B 26th St. 793-1231

Preschool and Elementary Chinese Classes
Preschool children can learn to listen, speak, write, count, and sing in Chinese with their parents. Children ages 6 to 14 can gain an Introduction to Chinese culture and the ancient writing system of this modern language. For more information, click here and look under February 11th date.

Brigham Young Folk Dancers from BYU in Utah will perform at the Lubbock Civic Center on February 27 from 7:00 to 8:30. Tickets are only $5.00 so families can enjoy the expressive and upbeat show! Tickets are at any Select-a-seat location.

Meeting to Explore Fundraising February 13
When we first asked who needed to raise funds ... we didn't expect the response we got. Wow. So ... we've been contacting people one on one as we can but we've planned an "Exploring Fundraising" meeting for Monday at two different times: 12:00 (brown bag lunch) and 4:30 (come as you are). SPRING TURKEY HUNTERS
Turkey hunters may be included in a random drawing for turkey hunt weekends. Drawing will take place on March 23; winners will be notified by phone. An upland game bird stamp is required for permit purchase. Hunters may also take feral hog during their turkey hunt, for no extra charge. Youth hunts will also be arranged in cooperation with sponsoring agencies (Texas Wildlife Association, and National Rifle Association) and the City of Lubbock. * Situation #1 ... a Mom needs a few hours to go to a meeting or luncheon or take on temp work for the day. She doesn't have a regular spot in a Parent's Day Out. Without friends or family nearby to help, what is the best solution for her? She has a 3 year old and a 6 month old and would be considered a drop in. Any ideas? Click here to share your ideas.
