(repeats Dec. 30)….Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Dinner Theater presentation of “White Christmas” - A new series of musical dinner-theatres offered by Lubbock Moonlight Musicals will continue this month with a return engagement of the traditional Christmas time favorite, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. The production is intended for all ages. Dinner will be served first with the performance to follow. The audience will be seated at round tables of eight for the meal and the performance. Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas. “The show will be performed on a thrust stage that the audience will surround,” commented event producer Gerald Dolter. “This will allow us to position every table no more than 40 feet from the stage playing area. The show will have a more intimate feel. The audience will truly feel like they are a part of the show.” The production team for White Christmas includes Moonlight Musicals veteran stage director Candice Aipperspach, musical director Debbie Gelber, and choreographer Kyla Olson. The cast also includes local Moonlight Musicals favorites. In the roles of Bob Wallace and Phil Davis are brothers Matthew Smith and Andy Christopher. Audiences will remember Christopher for his portrayal of the local Moonlight production of Buddy Holly. Reprising their roles of the lovely sisters Betty and Judy Haynes are Allison Smith (wife of Matthew) and Mariel Morgan. Mike Morgan (Mariel’s husband) returns to star as General Waverly. Tickets for White Christmas are priced at $63.75, $53.75 and $38.75. Prices include a ticketing service charge. Tickets for all performances may be purchased online at www.ticketsage.com/_lubbock/ or by calling Select-a-Seat at 806-770-2000. Group discounts are available. Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Banquet Hall, 150l Mac Davis Lane; Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Show begins promptly at 7:30 p.m.
