January 21 - 22…."Disney’s Peter Pan Jr."Hub Performing Arts School was selected by Disney Theatricals (one of only three groups to perform this around the nation) to produce this pilot performance. This new twist on the Disney classic features some of the newer Disney fairies as well as characters familiar to young and old. January 21 - 22….Winter Dinner Theatre: “Godspell” - The Texas Tech University School of Music and The College of Visual & Performing Arts will present a sumptuous dinner and the future stars of Broadway all in one night. Godspell was a hit in the 70's, and is enjoying a smashing revival today in an updated version with Christopher Bailey as the stage director and Deborah Gelber, the music director. Tickets are $25 (not including service charge) and can be reserved by calling 770-2000. Lubbock View Christian Church; 3301 34th Street; 7 p.m.

January 21 – 22….Lubbock Symphony Orchestra: Musical Madness – The guest artist is Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan. The concert will first delve into the complex world of composer Robert Schumann, who was an established writer, music critic and eminent composer. His personal psychological struggles as an artist are portrayed through pianist Inon Barnatan’s eloquent rendition of Schumann’s “Piano Concerto.” You will also hear Richard Strauss’ comical but virtuosic piece, “Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche,” that tells the story of a legendary prankster. The final piece, “Asyla,” conveys the imagination and originality of the young British composer Thomas Adés, while combining elements of techno and jazz with other orchestrated delights. January 22....Lubbock Lake Landmark 75th Anniversary Extravaganza - To celebrate 75 years of discovery, the Lubbock Lake Landmark will host several events each month during 2011. This Saturday the topic will be Life on the Plains...Pleistocene: An Ancient Ecosystem. This showcase focuses on animals of the plains through hands-on activities for the whole family. January 22….New Talent Showcase
- New talent is coming! Audience appeal is a huge factor in selecting the winner, so come and support your favorite performer! Many great musicians and singers audition but only the very best are cast on the "New Talent Showcase." January 22….CITA (Christ in the Arts) Winter Performance 2011 - Come and enjoy an exemplary evening of dance & vocal music featuring the CITA Ballet & Vocal Ensemble students in their production of "Your Love Broke Through." There will be a sneak preview of CITA's new Spring Production (May 21-22) entitled "EPIC ~ The Timeless Tale of Extravagant Love" that will feature a collection of Michael Card's most inspiring songs, choreographed by Lara Hinds.
