June 11….Premiere of “The Ultimate Wave Tahiti” - The most iconic surfer of modern times, Kelly Slater, emerges in his first-ever giant screen film appearance in veteran director Stephen Low’s amazing production. This visually captivating film seeks to explain the confluence of natural forces that have created a unique paradise in the South Pacific and how those forces work today to shape the waves, weather patterns, and all life that depends on our oceans. Film-goers will also be immersed in Tahitian culture and be able to visit some of nature’s most beautiful land and underwater gardens. The native flora and fauna that have adapted and thrived in this volcanic environment are like none other. The coral reefs of Tahiti and French Polynesia are some of the most pristine left in the world today. Slater and famed Tahitian surfing guide, Raimana Van Bastolaer, are also on a quest to find the “perfect wave”. The world fell in love with Slater during his meteoric advance from the amateur surfing circuit in Florida to his early domination of professional competition circuit. His 9 world-championships, the most ever won by any surfer, give Slater an enviable platform from which he frequently influences the sport and surfing lifestyle.
