If you've been fortunate enough to live a long life, you know what it's like to sometimes forget a person's name. The classic comedy shows how "I'm Herbert" hysterically funny this can be if the name you've forgotten is your own spouse! In "Carl's Doctor's Appointment" Jane and Kurt combine their comedic timing to give you two blue-collar characters you might meet at your own doctor's office. And in a cutting from "On Golden Pond", you'll see the versatility of both comedians who bring to the stage a touching piece from the award winning script. The second half of "Love of Life" is Jane Prince Jones's original one-act play entitled "Franks and Beans", set in a Smiley, Texas café where a crowd of characters is brought to life by Kurt and Jane. Special Summer Musical Preview
Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Stages "Buddy"

June 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27, July 3 and 25, and August 1, 7, 14 and 22….Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Production: “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story”- Buddy has been enjoyed by millions of people around the world and tells the story of the tragically short life of Buddy Holly, who along with high-school friends the Crickets, turned country music upside down to create some of the best rock ‘n’ roll songs ever written. We share Buddy’s frustrations through his first recording contract; the excitement America felt when ‘That’ll Be The Day’ hit #1; his naïve determination to be the first white act to play the Apollo Theatre in Harlem; his whirlwind romance and marriage to Maria Elena; concluding with the ill-fated ‘Winter Dance Party’ tour of the Midwest. Don’t miss out, this is your chance to see Buddy sing his way through two hours of the best rock ‘n’ roll you’ll ever hear! Lubbock Moonlight Musicals is set to begin its fourth season of outdoor musical productions. In past seasons, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals has presented three large-scale musicals each summer. This summer will be a little different. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Buddy Holly’s death, the theatre company based in Buddy Holly’s birthplace will open the season with “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story”. “It is one thing to do a story about a famous person,” Gerald Dolter, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Board President said. “We are talking about someone who affected not only rock music, but culture, as well.” As a special treat, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals has cast Dean Elliott and Matthew Wycliffe, professional actors who have played the role of Buddy Holly in London’s West End, to reprise the role in Lubbock. Dolter says he expects a large crowd to see “Buddy”, so the theatre company decided to produce only two productions this summer. Beginning in mid-July, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals will alternate performances of “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story” with Frank Loesser’s classic musical “Guys and Dolls." Tickets available in advance at all Select-a-Seat outlets or by calling (806) 770-2000 or 1-800-735-1288. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at www.selectaseatlubbock.com. Tickets are also sold at the gate on an as-available basis. For more info, refer to the Lubbock Moonlight Musicals website at www.lubbockmoonlightmusicals.org or contact Executive Director Jill Kerns at lubbockmoonlightmusicals@gmail.com. Wells Fargo Amphitheatre in Mackenzie Park. 413 E. Broadway, Gates open at 7 p.m. Shows begin at 8 p.m.
