November 14…. Fourth Annual Wishing Bowl Affair - Llano Estacado Clay Guild will kick-off their fourth Wishing Bowl Affair benefitting Covenant Children’s Hospital. Llano Estacado Clay Guild potters have created more than 200 handcrafted ceramic bowls for the event, during which attendees can select a one-of-a-kind bowl and fill it with their choice of gourmet soups provided by area chefs and restaurants. The cost of the event ($25 in advance, $35 at the door) includes beverages, dessert items and the artist’s bowl is theirs to keep. In addition to the Clay Guild potter’s bowls, attendees may choose from silent auction bowls decorated by young patients at the Children’s Hospital. The Wishing Bowl Affair includes a Membership Gallery Show and live music by Amanda Shires and Rod Picott. For more information, please contact Marguerite Fallon at 806.725.1226. November 14….Vegas Night - Brought to you by the Lubbock downtown chapter of the American Business Club to benefit children with disabilities in the Lubbock area. Includes BBQ dinner, 2,000 value in playing chips, one ticket for additional prize drawings, blackjack, craps, Let It Ride, silent auction and cash bar. Texas Hold’em tournament. Grand Prize – $500 Southwest money and 2 nights stay at South Point Hotel in Las Vegas. Tournament begins promptly at 8 p.m. Tournament players must present 5,000 chips value to participate. November 15…. Second Annual Giddy Up for Gladney Fundraiser - Giddy Up for Gladney, will bring together families and friends for an evening of country music, dinner and dancing and a silent auction. The Lubbock Gladney Family Association is a group of parents who have adopted children through the Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth, Texas. This local group serves to provide a community support system for other adoptive families, as well as to provide education and outreach to the community at large. LOOKING AHEAD....


November 18-23; 25-26; 28-30; December 2-7; 9-14; 16- 21…..The Polar Express - This holiday season take a train ride to the North Pole. The Polar Express comes to life when trains depart the Lubbock depot for a memorable journey. As you travel through the quiet night, listen to the story of The Polar Express and meet Santa and his elves at the north pole. Then, Santa will greet each child onboard the train and give each one, their own special Christmas bell. Guests will enjoy a train ride filled with warmth and laughter and Christmas carols as they are served hot chocolate and cookies by attendants. And, children are invited to wear their own special pajamas for this wonderful event. This is a special trip that families will want to make an annual holiday tradition. Tickets: $22 adults; $14 children ages 2-12 plus sales tax.

November 19-23….Holiday Happening “Winter Wishes” – This annual event sponsored by Junior League of Lubbock will begin with a sneak peak and preferred shopping for Junior League sustainers at 5 p.m. Ladies' Day on Thursday will feature the return of the style show Wishing for Glitz and Glitter. A new ticket options for Ladies’ Day is a $25 ticket that will get you in for preferred shopping, pastries and coffee provided by Starbucks, and the style show. The $40 ticket will include everything plus a fabulous lunch catered by Stella’s following the style show. There is limited seating for the lunch option, so get your tickets early. On Friday join Ray Bonner, the Outdoor Chef, who will be on hand to teach everyone the tricks of the trade for grilling. “Fire and Ice” also will include a silent auction, benefit drawing, cash bar and dinner.
