October 23-25....Celebrity Attractions presents: "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" -
In this Tony Award-winning new musical comedy, six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grow-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. October 24, 25….Garza Theatre production of “Agatha Christie Made Me Do It” -
A hilarious murder mystery comedy directed by Christy Morris that has more twists and turns than a narrow mountain road in the Swiss Alps. October 24-25….Lubbock Symphony Orchestra’s production of “Two Beauties and the Beast” –
Experience the elegant beauty of the rococo classical style of Schubert and Mozart juxtaposed to the birth of romanticism as expressed in Beethoven’s “Eroica.” This concert is filled with musical craft at its finest with the graceful melodies of Schubert, the whimsical virtuosity or Mozart, and the passionate fervor and drama of Beethoven, the beast, in what he himself called his favorite symphony. October 24-25….Hub Theatre Group’s production of “Night Mother”
- Marsha Norman's Pulitzer-Prize winning play stars the amazing and talented duo of Jane Prince Jones and Paula Chanda with direction by Bob Chanda. American Heart Association START Heart Walk - The purpose of the Start Heart Walk is to raise money for research to prevent the #1 killer of all Americans, heart disease and the #3 killer- stroke. For every $1 raised, $2 comes back to the TTUHSC for research. Every 30 seconds someone dies from a heart attack or stroke. Join the American Heart Association in raising awareness that heart disease is preventable and treatable. There is a one mile route and a three mile route, plus free screenings and family activities. October 25….Pun'kin Carving Contest - Come carve your way to fame! Everyone will have a set limit to carve the best pun'kin in the patch! Pun'kins and basic carving supplies will be provided, however you may bring your own tools as well. No artificial or pre-carved pumpkins will be accepted. Prizes awarded. So come on down and have a haunting good time. Please note: To insure enough supplies for those choosing to participate, pre-registration is required. October 25….Disney Princess Cookie Party - Princesses of all ages are invited to dress in your crowns, heels and gowns or your favorite royal attire and have your picture made with a Disney princess! You will also get to decorate your own crown cookie and are encouraged to enter a drawing for one of our six new Disney Princess cookie bouquets. Cost is $10 for the cookie and the picture. October 25….Free Pet Wellness Exam - Above and Beyond Pet Care Hospital will be participating in National Pet Wellness Month by providing one free wellness exam per household for a family pet. National Pet Wellness Month is a campaign sponsored by Ft. Dodge Animal Health. Please call 792-7297 if you need more information. The veterinary exams will be provided by Dr. J and Dr. Oden. October 30….Heart Link Network Launch
– A women’s networking group that is new to Lubbock. Come and enjoy a relaxed and wonderful way to network and meet incredible women within the Lubbock community. The Heart Link Network will be featured in upcoming issue of O Magazine. Only one person per industry allowed to attend each monthly event. October 31….Christmas Brunch and Shopping Bazaar -
Come jump start your holiday gift buying from among the very special and unique offerings by dozens of artists and craftsmen. As you “shop ‘til you drop” without the usual holiday hassle, you also can enjoy a delicious assortment of the club’s special Christmas culinary treats. This project is open to everyone, so please invite friends, neighbors and family members to join you for this enjoyable festival on Broadway.
