June 19....LFC Singles (SOS) Bowling Event - The SOS group will be getting together to bowl. The final cost will depend on the number that show up, but somewhere around $7. Gather at South Plains Bowl, located at 5150 - 69th; 7 p.m.

June 19....Buddy Holly Center Summer Showcase Concert Series -
Bo Garza performs this week. Admission is free. Buddy Holly Center Courtyard, 1801 Crickets Avenue. 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.

June 19....Mark Wallney in Concert - Performing classic rock and other tunes in Tornado Alley next to Tornado Gallery. BYOB policy in effect. $5.00 cover for the band.
1822 Buddy Holly Ave. Performance will begin at 8 p.m. after the Summer Showcase noted above.

June 20-21...."Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr" - This fun show presented by Hub Performing Arts School / Shining Stars Summer Camp has all those great songs you remember from the cartoons. Tickets are only $5 for adults and $2 for children. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a great show. June 20-21.... Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Presents, "Singin’ in the Rain" - Based on the 1952 MGM film starring Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor & Debbie Reynolds. The show includes show-stopping dances Singin’ in the Rain and Make ‘em Laugh. The amphitheatre is an outdoor venue with paved paths, night-time lighting and grassy terraces. Ticketholders are welcome to bring a picnic dinner and lawn chairs or a picnic blanket. June 20-22....Lubbock Peddler Show - Offers shoppers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience that can't be duplicated. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors 65+, children under 12 are free. June 20-22....2008 Annual Crosbyton JamFest - Family event with food, craft vendors, activities for children, raffles, and lots of music featuring Highway 101 (several #1 country hits in the late '80s and early '90s), Kenny Maines, Cadillac Jack, Rev Al and the Pythons (rockin’ blues band), Middle Ground (top 10 Austin City Limits 2007), Dustin Garrett and the Texas Cruisers and many more. June 20-22...."A Year With Frog and Toad" - This musical for the whole family is set in the world of Frog and Toad and is a beautiful tale that shows friendship and the love of the world through song and story with music by Robert Reale, lyrics by Willie Reale. It is based on the “Frog and Toad” books by Arnold Lobel and directed by Joshua Aguirre. Ticket Prices: Adults $15 and Seniors/Students $10. Group and family rates available. June 21....2nd Annual Vintage Township Posh Pooch Pageant (Rescheduled due to previous bad weather) - A free event to celebrate our four-legged friends and enjoy an amazing day of fun with your dog. A number of local companies, such as Pampered Paws, will be out to pamper pets with a pet-i-cure palace, gourmet treats, dog fashions and even an ask-the-veterinarian booth. The Lubbock Humane Society, the Heart of the Plains Kennel Club and the Lubbock Police K-9 unit are lined up for agility and police demonstrations, as well as a showcase of dogs available for adoption. June 21...."Greyt Attractions" - Lubbock's group promoting the rescue and adoption of retired racing Greyhounds will be one of the features at the upcoming and rescheduled Posh Pooch Pageant. Visit "A Place for Us Greyhounds" booth and plan to attend "Greyt Attractions" starring several of Lubbock's retired racers. June 22....Westwinds Brass Band Concert - Old-fashioned concert in the park, with players ranging in age from late teens to early '90s. Performed are a wide variety of songs including patriotic and varied musical selections. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the performance in the summer evening with your friends. Kids march included. Admission free. Wagner Park, 26th and Flint. 8 p.m.

July 4....4th on Broadway Festival - Annual free, outdoor family event held on July 4th. Since it's birth 15 years ago, it has been classified as "The largest Free Festival in Texas." Planned events include a huge Independence Day Parade, seven-block Street Fair with 11 musical stages and an Evening Concert ending with a spectacular fireworks display in Mackenzie Park.
