January 31....Hub Performing Arts School Registration - Registering for the spring semester which takes place February 4 - May 9. Classes for all ages! Offering acting lessons, dance performance workshops, Broadway Babies (2 years through five years), Theatre Broadway classes, private voice lessons and acting lessons, pilates and more! February 1-2....First Friday Art Trail - Once again the galleries, studios, businesses and restaurants of downtown Lubbock and beyond will join together and open their doors for First Friday Art Trail, Lubbock’s monthly evening of art, music and food. February 2....Annual Children’s Dental Health Fair - The South Plains District Dental Society's health awareness fair will provide families with invaluable oral health information and lots of free “toothy” giveaways, children’s dental health screenings, tons of cool games and door prizes, face painting & balloons. Best of all, this health awareness event and regular Science Spectrum Museum admission is totally *FREE to all children up to age 12 (when accompanied by a paying adult). February 2....Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Texas Plains WISH Training - A free training will be hosted with lunch and training manuals provided. Join a host of Lubbock’s finest musicians and singers as they add their own special flavor to this wonderful legacy. February 14....Doug Smith Benefit Concert - West Texas piano legend Doug Smith suffered paralysis from a severe back injury in a single-car accident on July 25, 2007. Since then, he has worked through four months of intensive therapy at Colorado's famed Craig Center. Doug is back in West Texas now, continuing the difficult physical therapy, and shows marked progress toward recovery. Doug and his family need our help on his long, tough journey.
