December 13...Sanders Family Christmas - Delightful sequel to the hilarious play Smoke On the Mountain. December 13 - 16....Ballet Lubbock's 30th Annual The Nutcracker - Ballet Lubbock’s Artistic Director Yvonne Racz choreographs this ballet set on nearly 200 dancers, including students of the Ballet Lubbock School and Company. Guest artists from New York will dance the respective roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier, including celebrated dancer and Ballet Lubbock alum NaTalia Johnson (Urban Ballet Theater) and Amar Ramasar (soloist, New York City Ballet). Ballet Lubbock’s performances of The Nutcracker are accompanied by members of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra/Tomasz Golka, Music Director. Don’t miss Ballet Lubbock’s special guests in the role of Mother Ginger—a few of the performances listed above will feature Lubbock Mayor David Miller and KLBK-13’s Bryan Mudd in this outlandish, hilarious role! Tickets can be purchased through all Select-A-Seat outlets, including their new main box office at the Lubbock Civic Center and all United Supermarkets. December 14....Christmas Bazaar - To support the Soldier's Angels organization. We will have LA and New York overstock from Fashion Forward, handmade children's items from Purple Gahdalia, jewelry from artsy domino lady Jan Brownlow, Beach Baby Jewels, Marble Mania and more! It will be held at the Lodge in Willow Hill apartments at 82nd and Quaker. 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

December 14-15....A Christmas Story - By Phillip Grecian and directed by Laura Bryan and Mitchell Britton is scheduled at the Garza Theatre in Post for December 7, 8, 14 & 15 at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee December 9 at 2:30 p.m. A family’s typical travails and Christmas joys in small-town Depression-era Indiana surround the story of Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Reserved seats are $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 & under. Group rates are available. The historic Garza Theatre is located at 226 E. Main in Post. December 14-15....Celtic Christmas Concert - This holiday favorite grows in popularity each year and advance tickets are strongly recommended. Performed in the music school's Hemmle Recital Hall on the Texas Tech campus. December 14-16....The Best Christmas Pageant Ever - Follows the problems of a young couple trying to put on a Christmas pageant and facing the Herdman children—probably the most inventively awful kids in history. When the Herdman’s and the Christmas story collide, the results are both hilarious and heart-warming. Directed by Kevin Helmer. 7:00 Friday & Saturday evenings; 2:00 Saturday & Sunday matinees. Tickets: adults $20; seniors and students $15. Group rates available. After the Saturday matinees, stay for a Family Christmas Party with refreshments, games, photos, ornament making, Christmas karaoke, and many more family fun events. December 16....Dean Killion Scholarship Concert- Featuring the Westwinds Brass Band at Texas Tech School of Music's Hemmle Recital Hall, 799-3143. Free. 7:30 p.m.

December 16....The Flying J Cowboy Christmas - This wonderful group spends summers performing at the Flying J Ranch in Ruidoso, NM and then touring and recording during the rest of the year, selling out the spectacular Spencer Theater in Ruidoso, and bringing their fabulous cowboy Christmas music to the Cactus Theater. For a different holiday treat, catch the lighthearted antics of the Wranglers this holiday season. Tickets $20; Cactus Theatre, 1812 Buddy Holly; 7:00 p.m.
