November 15....Empowering Women Monthly Luncheon - Join us for lunch this Thursday! We will be sharing stories of Thanksgiving Blessings. RSVP was due Tuesday but you may check last minute availability this morning by emailing carrie@iwantaphone.com. Lunch is $20. Bring a guest and she will eat lunch for only $15. Lubbock Club, 1500 Broadway, 14th floor. Lunch is served from 11:40 if you’d like to network. Our program starts at noon and concludes at 1:00.

November 15....Gatti's Kids-4-Kids Toy Drive Kickoff Event - Mr. Gatti's and CASA kick off the 2007 toy drive with a Community Fundraiser Night at Gatti's. Mr. Gatti's will donate a percentage of proceeds from buffet sales to CASA. Children will be treated to free bumper car rides, face painting, balloon animals, and games. Spokespersons from CASA will be available for interviews regarding the Gatti's Kids-4-Kids Toy Drive. 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

November 15 - 18....Holiday Happening – The Junior League of Lubbock presents its 28th annual event. This year's theme is A Festive Beginning, Two shopping areas will be featured: the Reindeer Room and Santa’s Workshop. More than 150 merchants and exhibitors from across the country will exhibit. Special events throughout the week feature first-class entertainment, including: Deborah Ford, party planner and author of “The Grits (Girls Raised In The South) Guide to Life”; Leslie Sbrocco, an award-winning author, speaker, wine consultant and television host; and fun for the children with “Garfield’s Christmas Surprise” and “Jay Jay’s Wing Wigglin’ Christmas.” Benefit drawing for a trip for two to Sonoma, California, including a winery tour and four days and three nights at The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, including airfare for two. Throughout the week, shoppers will enjoy the wonderful Tearoom and Sweet Shop where they can get fresh-brewed coffee or lunch without having to leave the Civic Center.

November 16....Fellowship Nights - Putt-Putt Fun Center of Lubbock is proud to announce a new and exciting way to bring community members together! Putt-Putt has been Lubbock’s favorite spot for families in a drug and alcohol-free environment for over 30 years. Putt-Putt Fun Center will be hosting a series of Fellowship Nights throughout the upcoming year. Visitors will receive more than a 50% discount to members of churches and youth groups. This offer consists of unlimited use of go-karts, miniature golf, and kid’s play land for $10.00 with a reservation. There also will be discounts on a variety of tasty food choices and specials for game room tokens. This is a great way to spend a Friday evening while getting to know your neighbors! November 16-18....Carousel - A story of love, death, and redemption, all with beautiful music including “If I Loved You”, and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Music by Richard Rodgers, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II; directed by John A. Packard. Adults $20; Senior/Student $15. Staged at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:00 p.m. at the Fire House Theater at the Underwood Center, 511 Ave. K. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 749-2416.

Editor's Review: Excellent cast and ideal for all ages. Wonderfully presented. If you plan to attend, calling ahead to reserve seats in the comfortable Fire House theater (which seats roughly 150 people) is highly recommended. Closing weekend for this play - don't miss it!

November 29; Dec. 1-3....Madrigal Scholarship Dinner - The 31st anniversary year of the Madrigal Dinner Feast at Texas Tech marks the return of the king and queen, the flavor of ancient Ireland, new songs, instruments and dances. The Student Union Ballroom will be transformed into a festive, ancient banquet hall.

November 30....Prairie Winds Christmas Dessert Show - The show, entitled Norma the Ornament, revolves around the story of one ornament whose sparkle rubs off on all those around her. In addition to the chorus, featured performers will be quartets Rendition, Astound Sound and Distraction. The award-winning Prairie Winds Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a world-wide women's organization dedicated to performing and educating its members in four-part a cappella harmony. Tickets are $15, including dessert, and must be purchased in advance from any Prairie Winds member or by calling 806-799-7464. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Terra Vista Middle School, 12th and Upland. 7 p.m.
