Sandy Parker Unveils Texas Fun Club at Statewide Conference

This week, the founder of Lubbock Fun Club officially launched www.TexasFunClub.com - a statewide version that helps families find interesting and fun things to do all over Texas. The site launched this last week at the Texas Tourism Industry Association in Houston and Sandy was able to shake hands with First Lady Anita Perry and discuss the concept of the Fun Club that should be well received at this week’s Texas Conference for Women.

“The Texas Conference for Women continues to surpass all our expectations, and the Governor and I are so pleased with this year’s tremendous program,” said First Lady Anita Perry. "The goal of the conference is to provide women with the tools they need to enrich their lives, advance their careers and impact their communities."

“Enrich their lives is where we come in,” says Sandy Parker. “Our goal is to help women and families find fun things to do in Texas by organizing a statewide wealth of information in three categories: By Date, By City, and By Type.” Sandy ends every update with her challenge, “Don’t just live in Texas...but REALLY LIVE in Texas.”

After starting the Lubbock Fun Club, Sandy Parker and her husband relocated to Stephenville in August 2007. Daughter, Taylor Parker, attends school in Dublin and enjoys the opportunity to be in the band where her dad is the Director of Bands for the district.

And You Heard it HERE First....

Country music fans will be glad to know that George Strait will return to the road in early 2008 for a series of arena concerts across the region. The 19-city tour is currently scheduled to conclude March 7 here in Lubbock. We're proud to be the first in town to announce this spring concert at the United Spirit Arena. "King George" played to a full house at the same venue in January of 2006 and has since become the all-time leader in career #1 hits - in all music formats - truly a remarkable achievement.
