Lubbock featured in current Texas Highways Magazine

We just got a nice note from Nola McKey, senior editor, that their August issue includes a story on our fair city. The piece was written by associate editor Marty Lange.

And, while we found the news about the magazine writeup interesting indeed...perhaps even more so is the fact that McKey is a former city resident and a weekly reader of this postcard! She also reports that the issue of the magazine is on newsstands now...so look for it!

Don't miss "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", the final production of the Lubbock Moonlight Musicals summer season. This rollicking frontier musical is based on the popular 1954 MGM film of the same name. You'll enjoy high-energy dancing and wonderful music as you watch the show under the stars at Wells Fargo Amphitheatre in Mackenzie Park. Gates open at 7 p.m. Shows begin at 8 p.m. Just for fun...bring a picnic dinner and lawn chairs - it's ok! Reflecting on the Week of Many "Firsts"

Well...we made it through our first week...and, as they say, it was an "experience!" Several of you sent encouraging notes and well wishes and we sincerely appreciate your kindness during this exciting yet very challenging time as we get intimately familiar with the workings of the Lubbock Fun Club website. Likewise, it's nice to know how many of you find this weekly postcard an invaluable resource in your search for the "fun stuff."

For our part, we took in the "first Friday" art trail and also made the trek down to Post for a truly inspired performance of "Peter the Rock" in the amazing Ragtown Gospel Theater. You'll hear more from us about this incredible venue soon.

Our hope, of course, is that many of you will participate in many of these wonderful events that we publicize here each week.
