December 2 - Holiday Pops is THIS SATURDAY Annual Holiday Tradition and Great Family Event
"America Celebrates" -- a glorious celebration of holiday favorites, sensational music, and bright faces of children -- makes this memorable family event an annual tradition at the gorgeous First Baptist Church. Scott Parkman leads the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and two distinctive choirs, First United Methodist Chancel Choir and First Baptist Church Kids of the Kingdom, in cherished holiday favorites such as Carol of the Bells, White Christmas, Sleigh Ride and many more. Be a part of the holiday cheer as you sing along to Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, The First Noel and others.There are two performances: 3 pm and 7 pm. December 9 - Miracles Parade on 34th Street is next weekend. Thousands of people will be lining 34th Street on December 9 as the lighted floats, cheering kids, and sights and sounds of Christmas pass by! This parade that began last year was fantastic and a real, honest-to-goodness, holiday parade with real floats, real marching bands, and Santa Claus (coming straight from a visit to a BIG DEPARTMENT store in Dallas.) It's a thrill. Don't miss it. Put it on your calendar now and round up your boy and girl scouts, sports teams, Sunday School classes, friends and family and get a good "close up" glimpse at this holiday cheer! Every month, very nice women come together to listen to a speaker that is motivating, inspirational and just plain refreshing to know. We meet at the Lubbock Club on the 14th Floor of the Wells Fargo Building. Next Thursday, Janna Aycock, founder of Aycock Media Works is going to be our speaker and her topic is "LAUGH OUT LOUD" ... PLUS ... everyone that RSVPs by Wednesday at 12:00 noon gets a special holiday gift!
