In Honor of All Veterans!
The Silent Wings Museum invites patrons to commemorate Veterans Day 2006 on Saturday, November 11, 2006, from 11am – 2pm. In honor of those who have fought for the United States, Silent Wings Museum is hosting all day activities for the entire family. Free children’s activities will be provided throughout the day, and we invite parents to explore the Museum and participate in the festivities as well. A representative from the Adopt A Soldier program will be available for families who want to consider supporting those fighting overseas. The Silent Wings Museum will provide refreshments and catered food from 11-2pm.

November 11-12 - Local Color Studio Tour - An annual event exhibiting and selling artwork and gifts created by 58 different local artists in 10 different studios. More Family Fun on November 11
SPUDFEST - Fun filled family event with potato bar with all the trimmings at the Science Spectrum on the South Loop (between University and Indiana). Jumpstart-for-a-Day at Barnes & Noble is a is a one-day event that provides children with a fun day of educational activities and provides parents with ideas and resources for continuing the learning at home. We will be bowling November 16 at South Plains Lanes at 7:00 p.m. at 5150 69th. We have reserved 4 lanes. The cost is $34.99 per lane for 2 hours of bowling. This includes shoe rental, one pitcher of soft drink and one basket of popcorn per lane. We are getting $10.00 off each lane. Five people to a lane would make the cost around $7.00 a person. It's Official -- Lubbock has a NEW FOOTBALL TEAM! It was announced yesterday in a press conference that Lubbock has an indoor arena football franchise team. Their name - THE LUBBOCK RENEGADES and this is football fun suitable for the family! Their first game is March 30 in 2007 in the Lubbock Coliseum and season tickets are already on sale. Rodney Blackshear, formerly wide receiver for Texas Tech from 87 to 91" will be the coach of this new team. I got to meet him yesterday and have my picture taken with him. He is a very nice man and excited about the opportunity.
