About David Kneupper's West Texas Suite
In celebration of its 60th Anniversary, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra commissioned award-winning composer and sound designer David Kneupper to compose a work for orchestra that would reflect the spirit of Lubbock and the South Plains. West Texas Suite will premier Friday, October 27th, and Saturday, October 28th at the "America At Home" concert, conducted by Paul Haas. In Kneupper's words, West Texas Suite "creates a chronological journey through the four main eras of the region's past....It conveys that uniquely American sense of optimism, and the soaring spirit of West Texas."

“SHUT UP & SING” Movie showing Thursday, October 26, benefits Lubbock's 3rd Annual Flatland Film Festival
First, what is the Flatland Film Festival?
The Flatland Film Festival is a film festival in Lubbock every year around August that fosters and encourages independent film, video and digital moving-image expression.
Now ... what is "SHUT UP and SING"?
It is a new documentary about The Dixie Chicks during a dramatic period of their career. All proceeds from this showing will benefit the 3rd Annual Flatland Film Festival.
So ... if you want to help raise money for the Film Festival or want to see the documentary, tonight is a good night to go 7PM, at Cinemark Movies 16 on 5721 58th Street.

<< LOOK AT THIS PHOTO ... very closely.
What you will see is what we've suspected all along.
Fish love art too! And for the upcoming November 3 First Friday Art Trail, FauxReal Art & Design is featuring FUNKY
FISH CONDOs complete with funky furnishings and, yes, art on the walls! Why should people have all the fun? Kids will love it. Adults will have a blast. And it's good for the soul! To extend the fun ... we've done two things:
1.) EXTENDED OUR ART TRAIL HOURS from 5:00 until 11:00. So you can start at any area and STILL HAVE TIME for FauxReal! Alot of you said you came by after we closed last time ... so we're staying open late for you!
2.) ADDED A WORKSHOP during the Art Trail evening. When you arrive, if you would like to make a piece of Funky Fish Furniture or art for your fish, we will have the supplies out and the guides ready to help. Cost for workshop: $5 and takes about 30 minutes. In fact, it really takes about 15 and you can enjoy the rest of the art while we "bake it" for you. Huh? Yep. Come see!
