The Lubbock Fun Club wanted to create a fun night out where all of us can come out, laugh, be together and do something a little different. It just so happened that the FIRST EVER performance in the brand new LHUCA theater is where Lubbock Community Theater will perform! So on May 20 and 27 ... plan now to grab a group of friends, your Sunday School class, a group of girls for a "girls night out" or family friends and come out for Nunsense. You'll laugh so hard and be talking about this for a while. Plus we have suprises and shinnanigans planned for intermission! Tickets are $20.00 Call 749-2416 and be sure and tell them you want to be in the Fun Club section!

ARTIST RECEPTION May 20
The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies artist reception and awards ceremony will be Saturday May 20, 2006, from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM at the Buddy Holly Center. Vibrant colors splashed across canvas, watercolorists from across the nation compete in the 31st Annual Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibit at the Buddy Holly Center. The reception honors these artist selected by Juror George James. The winners will be unveiled at an Artist Reception & Awards Ceremony where over $5,000 will be awarded in various categories.

THIS WEEK'S FUN!
May 12 - KRFE Gospel Night at the Cactus Theater. Directed by Rusty Hudelson and Produced by Don and Terri Caldwell; Hosted by Shane Swift. This is sure to be another fabulous Gospel Night that shouldn’t be missed! The fabulous selection of gospel music will soothe your soul and uplift your heart.

May 12 and 13 - Lubbock Symphony Orchestra MasterWorks #5 Concert This concert will feature Concertmaster, John Gilbert. The concert will be conducted by Guest Conductor, Timothy Muffitt.

Polls open 7 a.m.-7p.m. Registered voters must vote at the polling location for their precinct which is listed on the front of the voter certificate. May 13 - TTU Commencement - TTU will have two commencement ceremonies at 8:30am and 11:30am.

May 13-Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis Proceeds benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Preston Manor Subdivision (FM 179 & 66th) Registration begins at 8:30 am, walk begins at 9:30 1-800-fight-cf

May 13 - Mexican/ Tex Mex Cooking 10:30-Noon This month: Enchiladas Pre-register $5/person Rawlings Community Center

May 15 & 16 – “Pirates of Penzance” Plainview Christian Academy will stage a production of this well-known Gilbert & Sullivan classic. The evening promises audiences a swashbuckling good time!

May 18 - Deadline for the Homeschool Artwork at the Godeke Branch Library. Please deliver your artwork to the Godeke Branch Library community room any Thursday afternoon between 2 & 3 p.m. An art exhibit by homeschool students will be displayed during the months of June, July and August. Artwork can be in any medium. 792-6566

May 18-June 23-Landmark Arts, the Galleries of the School of Art at TTU announces the MIX! 2005 [redux] exhibition.

May 18-Rabbi Chaim Richman from Jerusalem Israel will speak. Free to public, but reservations are required. 777-4787

A LOOK AHEAD
May 19 - 21 The “Perfect Shopping Show” presented by The Peddler Show will be in Lubbock, May 19-21at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center in Lubbock and opens its doors on Friday at 3pm. As every woman’s closet must have the perfect little black dress, she must also have the “Perfect Shopping Show”. So slip on your shopping shoes and stroll the aisles to find an array of unique home furnishings, spring floral arrangements, glitzy jewelry, hanging art, chic clothing, creative gifts, tasty treats and so much more. Shopping hours are:
Friday 3-8pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, and Sunday 11am-4pm. Admission to the Show is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors 65+, and children under 12 get in FREE. One admission is good all weekend! For more information call (800) 775-2774
