November 22….Safety City Walk, Roll or Run -
This year, enjoy Thanksgiving knowing you’ve already burned off the calories! Come to Safety City. to “pre-burn” your Thanksgiving calories. Bring the whole family to walk our streets (6 laps = 1 mile), run races, or ride bikes and scooters around our miniature town. Free admission! All ages welcome. Bring your children’s bikes or use ours. We’ll help you figure out how many calories you burn so you can enjoy a guilt-free turkey day. Call (806) 767-2712 for more information. November 23….25th Annual Turkey Trot - “The Annual Turkey Trot has celebrated family, fitness, and fun in Lubbock since 1993. The Turkey Trot’s most appetizing draw is obvious – run a race in the morning and trotters can feel guilt-free about gobbling down all day long. $20.00 WTRC members & non-member kids 5-12 only; $30.00 non members. November 23….Overton Thanksgiving Feast - Join the Overton Hotel for one of their favorite traditions as they prepare a grand Thanksgiving feast. Come enjoy all your favorites and let them do the dishes this year! Reserve a table in the gorgeous Sunset Ballroom for Lubbock's largest Thanksgiving Celebration! November 23 - 26 (Repeats December 1 - 3; 8 - 10; 15 - 24)....Santa's Land Drive-Thru Christmas Park in Tahoka - Admission is free, donations will be accepted to help keep the lights on. Everyone is invited to stop by and see the lights and Santa (please bring your camera). The park includes four acres of land, thousands of lights, 100 plus wooden cut outs, 15 inflatables, tons of Christmas trees, and decorated antique car. Lots of new stuff this year. Visitors are able to stay inside their cars or get out and mingle while enjoying a warm fire and hot chocolate & cookies. Opening Night is Thanksgiving The train will be available opening weekend only. It will be at Santa's Land Drive thru Park November 23,24 &25 (Thursday-Saturday). It is free to everyone and all ages may ride. Lights will be on the 25th. If Santa is present he arrives at 6:30 and departs at 9 p.m. Lights out at 10 p.m. If you want to make sure Santa will be present call (806) 891-1291 or see Tahoka, TX (30 miles south of Lubbock). Park is located at South 11th &Ave O (use Google map) just off of Hwy 87. Gate opens 6:30 nightly; lights out 10 p.m.


November 24-26….Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Presents: Meredith Wilson’s "Miracle on 34th Street" - This Thanksgiving, fill your hearts with the miracle of family and friendship at Moonlight Broadway’s production of Meredith Willson’s Miracle on 34th Street! Based on the beloved films and with a musical score by Meredith Willson, Miracle on 34th Street tells the tale of a single-mother, Doris, and her struggle to balance work, her young daughter, the loving guy across the hall who wants to be more than friends, and many years’ worth of dashed dreams and a hurting heart. Then one year at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, a man named Kris Kringle appears just as a replacement driver is being sought for the Parade’s Santa Sleigh. By expressing kindness, generosity, forgiveness, compassion, and love, Kris prompts people to remember the reason for the season and their lives begin to change. Find the magic of the season with Moonlight Broadway’s Miracle on 34th Street during the Junior League of Lubbock’s Holiday Happening. November 25….Sounds of West Texas: Inspirational, Country, Gospel & Holiday Favorites - The Sounds of West Texas will be presenting a special night of some favorite classics songs including some inspirational music, holiday tunes and much more gospel than usual. The songs they will perform promises to lift your spirits and sooth your heart and soul. The Sounds of West Texas will still continue to have their great mix of classic tunes, unique presentation of door prizes for lucky audience members, and jingles performed by some of the performers for sponsors of the show. This seasonal show is one you will not want to miss! This AMAZING line up of confirmed performers are: Larry Allen, Steve Burrus, Kaci Brice, Lesley Carraway, Mike Carraway, Kelly Hastey (lead singer for the Texas Cadillac Jack Band); Brenda Hopkins, Mike Huffman, Donnie Martin, Cale Richardson (currently the lead guitar player for the Eli-Young Band), Johnny Richardson, "Southern Conviction Band" (Jeff McCreight, Julie McCreight Arriaga, Mike McCreight, Rick McCreight, Brent Adkins and Mike Huffman), Ray Espinoza, Brent Smith, Cindie Taggart, Betty Smith, Keith Smith, Mark Wallney, Terry Westbrook and Steve Williams. Special early start time: 7 pm - earlier than most start times at the Cactus - so allow plenty of time for parking and getting goodies before the band kicks in at straight up 7. Plenty of parking in the new Cactus parking lots behind the theater, too. Base price for tickets is $20 for reserved floor seats and $15 in the balcony.
