July 2….Buddy Holly Center Summer Showcase Concert Series
- The BHC is gearing up for another hot summer of music and fun. This week's featured act is the Shane Rogers Band. Performances are every Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Meadows Courtyard. Summer Showcase is FREE to the public. There will be a cash bar, beverages and food available for purchase. No outside beverages are allowed. Buddy Holly Meadows Courtyard, 1801 Crickets Ave.

July 2….Junior’s Listening Room
– Music meets wine every Thursday as Junior Vasquez hosts an intimate music experience at Cap*Rock Winery, bringing out some of Lubbock’s talented artists. July 3….First Friday Art Trail
- See the regular art venues...plus the exciting monthly additions showcasing art and artists downtown and throughout Lubbock. Catch a trolley or bus at many of the locations orpick up a FFAT map at any of the venues to see the art that can be found throughout the community each month during the event. First Friday Art Trail trolleys run continuously in downtown Lubbock during FFAT hours. Trolleys are free and you will find a "trolleyteer" on each trolley who is a treasure trove of info about FFAT and the arts in Lubbock and will help you navigate with ease. For more info and complete schedule click HERE! The trail runs throughout downtown and the Depot District from 6-9 p.m.

July 3….Buffalo Springs Fireworks Extravaganza - Come out to Buffalo Springs Lake on Friday July 3rd, 2015 for the annual firework extravaganza!! This year Extreme Pyrotechnics will be providing our fireworks and has an amazing lineup with over 15 minutes worth of spectacular fireworks! It will be a fantastic day to come out with your friends and family and celebrate this Independence Day! Fireworks will start at dark and the best place to view them will be from Mike’s Marina! Buffalo Springs Lake, 9999 High Meadow Rd; The fireworks show starts at dark, and the Greg Maldo Band will begin playing at 7 p.m. at Mike’s Marina.

July 3....Amigo's presents: La Raza on the Plaza - La Raza on the Plaza, an event for the Hispanic community which will featured music from popular Tejano acts, food vendors, and family friendly activities. Lubbock County Courthouse Gazebo, 1150 Texas Avenue; 7:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

July 4….Yankee Doodle Dash and Sparkler Sprint: 5K - 1 Mile - 100 Yard Dash
- West Texas Endurance is pleased to join with Broadway Festivals in hosting the 2nd Annual Yankee Doodle Dash (5K and 1 mile) and the Sparkler Sprint in conjunction with the 4th on Broadway celebration. Registration is available at www.westtexasendurance.com. The 4th on Broadway is a treasured tradition for families on the South Plains. Go back in time to the Spirit of 1776 with the Yankee Doodle Dash (5K or 1 mile course) that will take participants along the parade route through Mackenzie Park. The Sparkler Sprint (free for kids, ages 6 – 12) will have the children kicking up some fireworks between the crowds as they line the streets before the parade. Each race entry will also receive parking and a ticket to the Street Dance featuring Josh Abbott Band that evening.” Start/Finish Line in Mackenzie Park (Cesar E. Chavez Drive and Canyon Lake Road); 7:30 AM (5K and 1 Mile); 8:30 am (Sparkler Sprint).

July 4….4th of July "Picnic in the Park" - The largest free festival in Texas returns, switching from Broadway to Mackenzie Park this year. Your toes will be tapping all day, thanks to musical guests performing on seven different stages. The event also features arts and crafts, games, inflatables, a rock wall, face painting and dozens of street vendors. You won’t want to miss this annual tradition.

July 4.....Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market - Held each Saturday, June through October, this unique gathering of area producers, specialty food and beverage providers and select artisans specializing in homegrown or homemade. Held in the Depot District area, this weekly event has become a highlight of the summer months and offers something for everyone. Support your local growers and be part of the "locally produced" movement. Be there at 9:00 am – produce is available until vendors sell out! Tornado Gallery,1822 Buddy Holly Avenue; 9 a.m.

July 4….4th on Broadway Parade - Come out in your most patriotic attire and watch as dozens of wonderfully decorated floats pass by and entertain. The parade route for 2015 will start at Broadway Street and Interstate 27. It will then turn onto Canyon Lake Road and follow Cesar E. Chavez Drive up to Highway 82. Public parking will be set up at South Plains Fair Grounds and to the south of the intersection of Broadway at Canyon Lake Road. 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

July 4….Josh Abbott Band 4th of July Street Dance - Dance the night away with Texas Country act (and Idalou native) The Josh Abbott Band along with special guest Sam Riggs. Lubbock County Courthouse. Texas Ave. & Broadway; 7:00 – 11:45 p.m.

July 5 ….Sunday Concert in the Park - Come and enjoy an old fashioned Concert In the Park, performed by the Westwinds Brass Band. Traditional brass band music, marches, overtures, outstanding soloists, and our traditional favorite...the kid's march. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an hour of fun music-- maybe even a picnic supper! Concerts are sponsored by the Tech Terrace Neighborhood Association. Admission is FREE and everyone welcome. Wagner Park, 26th St. and Flint Ave; 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Consolidated Lineup of Events for 4th On Broadway 2015


Big changes are coming for the annual 4th on Broadway. This year marks the event’s 25th anniversary. Broadway Festivals, the organizers behind the event has decided to move 4th on Broadway from Broadway to Mackenzie Park. La Raza on the Plaza and the Street Dance will continue to be at the Lubbock County Courthouse. But the big fireworks concert finale will be back!

The festival begins Friday, July 3rd, with La Raza on the Plaza and the Street Dance at Broadway and Texas Avenue. On Saturday, July 4th, there will be the second annual Yankee Doodle Dash (5K run), the Parade, and Picnic in the Park. Event organizers said there will be vendors, a kid’s area, and 7 music stages. The celebration will continue with the return of the evening concert and fireworks.

The parade route will be changing, beginning on East Broadway and moving through Mackenzie Park.
