FRIDAY and SATURDAY

May 23, 24
(Repeats May 30, 31)…."The Boys Next Door" - The place is a communal residence in a New England city, where four mentally handicapped men live under the supervision of an earnest, but increasingly "burned out" social worker. Mingled with scenes from the daily lives of these four, where "little things" sometimes become momentous (and often very funny), are moments of great poignancy. We are reminded that the handicapped, like the rest of us, want only to love and laugh and find some meaning and purpose in the brief time that they, like their more fortunate brothers, are allotted on this earth. Cost: $12 - $15. For tickets call 806-792-0501 or visit catsplayhouse.com. CATS Playhouse. 2257 34th Street; 7:30 p.m.
FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

May 23 - 25
….Lubbock Community Theatre; “Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)” - It's a musical about musicals! In this hilarious satire of musical theatre, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form. The basic plot: June is an ingenue who can't pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue? Told in the styles of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim, Herry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kander & Ebb. A witty and charming valentine to musical theatre! Written by Joanne Bogart and Eric Rockwell and directed by John A. Packard. To reserve tickets call (806) 749-2416 or visit http://lubbockcommunitytheatre.org. Lubbock Community Theatre, 4232 Boston Avenue; Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
