June 27….Buddy Holly Center Summer Showcase Concert. The Center is an exciting and beautiful facility located in the heart of Lubbock’s historic Depot District. Home to the most extensive permanent exhibition on the life and music of Buddy Holly, the Center also features a contemporary Fine Arts Gallery, the Texas Musicians Hall of Fame Gallery and the outdoor Buddy & Maria Elena Holly Plaza. At 5:30 p.m. the Summer Showcase Concert Series will feature Patricia Vonne (Latin Roots Rock). Buddy Holly Center, 1801 Crickets Avenue; 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

June 27….Imagine Lubbock Music - Come out and experience outstanding, original music performed live by musicians and composers from the Lubbock area .Cost is $5.00. June 27, 28, 29, 30….Critterfest ’13 - Lubbock’s most popular annual animal event is back again this June. Nowhere else in town can you see lions, tigers, alligators, crocodiles, zebras, emus, wallabies, lemurs, giant tortoises, big snakes, and tons of other cool animals as the Science Spectrum literally turns into a Zoo for four days. Awesome and amazing animal acts, as well as the extremely popular petting zoo, pony rides and cow milking demonstrations, along with many of other animals on display continue to make this event a hit for the whole family! Two exciting shows will be featured at this year’s CritterFest. Close Encounters Lion & Tiger Show and Crocodile Encounters will headline the always popular animal entertainment. Based on its overwhelming popularity, Close Encounters Lion and Tiger Show is a returning act from last year that features trained African lions, and several tigers including both a rare white and a golden tiger. This show will not only astound you with the cat’s intelligence, but teach important lessons about conserving the World’s endangered species. Crocodile Encounters is an educational reptile show that will introduce you to live American Alligators and Nile Crocodiles in order to educate the public about conserving these often misunderstood animals.

Close Encounters Lion/Tiger Shows: 1, 3 & 5 p.m. daily (Exhibit Hall)
Crocodile Encounters: 2 p.m. & 4 p.m. daily (Lower Level Café)

Your ticket to CritterFest not only includes viewing of all the amazing animals on display and getting up close and personal seating to all of the exciting shows, but even includes regular Museum admission. The Science Spectrum Museum is home to Lubbock’s only public Aquarium Exhibition, Texas Alive: the Brazos River Journey!, a 6000 square foot permanent exhibit with both fresh and saltwater fish and other native Texas animals. Tickets for CritterFest ‘13 can only be purchased at the door each day of the event! Box office opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

General Admission Ticket rates for CritterFest ’13:
Adults: $12.50; Children (3-12): $10.00;
Seniors (60+): $10.00

Member Admission Prices for CritterFest ’13 Shows:
$4.50 Adults; $3.50 Children
Children 2 and under receive free event admission. Additional fees for animal feeding, rides, or photos will apply.

….Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Presents “ Peter Pan” - This high-flying fantasy will delight children and adults alike as it swoops into The Wells Fargo Amphitheatre this summer! Reserve your tickets to Neverland now! Come see Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook and the Lost Boys in a story so magical it actually takes flight! This is a production you don’t want to miss. Bring your family and come fly away with us to Neverland for a swashbuckling epic that delivers non-stop action, spell binding music and stunning choreography. All summer performances will be outdoors in the Wells Fargo Amphitheater in beautiful Mackenzie Park. The audience is encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and personal lawn chairs or blankets. June 29….3rd Annual Butterfly Release - Come join the Garden and Arts Center and the Lubbock Arboretum for a fun evening of crafts, entertainment, snow cones, butterflies and ladybugs! (Repeats on Sundays through July 14)…Westwinds Brass Band Concert in the Park – Come and enjoy an old fashioned Concert In the Park, performed by the Westwinds Brass Band. Traditional brass band music, marches, overtures, outstanding soloists, and our traditional favorite...the kid's march. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an hour of fun music-- maybe even a picnic supper! Concerts are sponsored by the Tech Terrace Neighborhood Association. Admission is FREE and everyone welcome. Wagner Park, 26th St. and Flint Avenue; 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.
