March 28….5th Annual Laugh for the Cure
-
Join Komen Lubbock and make it a date night, girl’s night out, or treat a co-worker to a relaxing and fun evening. It will be a night of laughter featuring comedian John Wesley Allen. John will be joined by Derrick Tennant. Breast cancer is no laughing matter, but for one night, it will be! Tickets are $30 for general admission and $40 for VIP. VIP ticket holders will be invited to a "Meet the Comedian Hour" following the event. Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane. Doors open at 5:30; show at 6:30 p.m.

March 28….Texas Tech Speaker: Actress/Neurobiologist Mayim Bialik -
Texas Tech University will host actress Mayim Bialik known for her current role as Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory” as well as her former role as the title character on NBC’s “Blossom.” Bialik, who has a doctorate in neuroscience, will speak about the work of the brain, behavioral development, her life as an actress and scientist and the relationship between “The Big Bang Theory” and its audience. Combining a successful career in the entertainment business with a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA, Bialik provides a fantastic combination to really make science cool and funny. Tickets for the event are $12 for the public and can be purchased through any Select-A-Seat outlet or at www.selectaseatlubbock.com. Student tickets are free and can be picked up at the SUB information desk with student ID. Student Union Building, Allen Theater, Texas Tech University; 8 p.m.

March 28….Cactus Theater: Imagine Lubbock Music -
The Cactus Theater presents this new series, Imagine Lubbock Music, held the last Thursday of each month and will feature outstanding original music by many composers from this area. This Thursday will feature Dustin Garrett, Brian McRae and Jordan Watts. General Admission $5.00. For more info, visit the website at www.cactustheater.com. March 28-30….71st Annual ABC Rodeo - Rodeo events at each and every performance include saddle bronc, bareback, steer wrestling, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing, mutton bustin' and bull riding. Come out and see the top PRCA cowboys compete for the top spot and prize money! Tickets will be available at the door of each performance or through the Select-A-Seat website. March 30….Easter Eggs-travaganza
- Join the Science Spectrum for their annual Easter Eggs-travaganza in the Lubbock Children’s Museum. At 10 a.m. the Easter Egg Hunt will start and then keep an eye out for bunnies, chicks, an Easter craft experiment, silly putty and face painting. March 30….Kids' Canvas Painting Fun - Art & Company offers creative art instruction for children of all ages. Kim Thompson, the owner and operator, is a certified math and art teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. She is dedicated to helping your child develop his/her artistic talents. In addition, Kim and her crew seek to improve your child's ability to succeed in the classroom. Enroll at www.artandcompany.biz. Adults are always welcome to stay and paint with their child at no additional cost or adults can paint their own masterpiece for an additional class fee. These classes are great family fun opportunity to spend time together while learning!
Saturday’s Classes:
Owl and Bird in a Tree: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. all ages (pre-k and kinder kids must have an adult stay with them)
The Mustache & Andy Warhol: 1 – 3 p.m. grades: 2nd & up $18/12x12 canvas painting class-pick your colors and learn about the famous pop artist Andy Warhol!

March 30….Easter Egg Scramble at Buffalo Springs Lake - The Easter Egg Scramble will be located in the grassy area across the street from the amphitheater. Kids age 11 years of age and younger are free gate admission until 2 p.m. on March 30, 2013. Age groups: 1-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-8 years, 9-11 years. Parents will need to bring their own Easter Egg Basket(s) for their kids. The Easter bunny will be on hand for pictures and to give out prizes. March 30….Cactus Theater: Allison Firefly Plays for Donnie – Jason and his friends Dustin Garrett, Amber Pennington, Bryan Pacheko, Johannes Bjerragaard, and Blake Vera have formed a cutting edge band in honor and memory of Donnie Allison. The last song Donnie wrote was called “Firefly” and was written for his son. It was only fitting that the band names itself Allison Firefly. Tickets are $20.00. March 31….Bodyworks Annual Easter Egg Hunt - Join in the fun at this annual FREE Easter egg hunt at either the 82nd & Slide or 4th Street location on Sunday, March 31st!
