Take a bite of fun this spring break and celebrate Pi Day at the museum! This exciting new event will give everyone an opportunity to not only revisit the old trusty 3.14 formula for calculating circumference, but will also explore where else in nature and science we can find this math at work. Besides hands-on activities, we’ll of course have Pi Bites generously provided by the Choc'late Mousse Pie Bar available while supplies last! March 15 (Opening Day...exhibit runs through May 31)….I Have Come to You Again
- An exhibit that will honor the life of Pope John Paul II - Lubbock is the first city in the U.S. that has been chosen by the Vatican to host an exhibit honoring one of the world’s most influential leaders, Pope John Paul II. The exhibit will feature more than 130 of Pope John Paul II’s personal artifacts and memorabilia. Items on display will come from the Vatican Collections, located in Rome, as well as from the Pope John Paul II Center in Krakow, Poland. These artifacts will include personal belongings Blessed Pope John Paul II collected during his lifetime as well as gifts, pictures and documents he received while he served as a world leader. March 16….Pinterest on the Road
- This event allows small businesses the opportunity to showcase their products. Individuals will be selling their innovative creations. The audiences will visually share items of interest and purpose they find on the internet. Tickets will be $5 at the door. Children 12 and under are free. All proceeds from booth rental and entrance fee benefits Sondra's Song, a local non profit that assists foster kids transition into adulthood. March 16….Landmark After Dark Night Hike - Join guides at dusk for this year's first opportunity to explore the Landmark after dark! Gather at the Robert A. Nash Interpretive Center at 6:30 p.m., to begin the adventure. Be sure to wear comfortable, sturdy, closed-toed shoes and bring a bottle of water. Night hikes are always held, weather permitting. March 16 -17….Repticon Lubbock Reptile and Exotic Animal Show
- This marks Repticon's first show in West Texas, and this new event will fill the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lubbock with many reptiles, amphibians, and exotics. Top vendors will be offering the best of the best in animals, and a bevy of supplies, caging and other merchandise. Repticon will be bringing educational live animal seminars, and do not miss the raffles with amazing prizes. March 17....Roan Inish Dahmsa Ceili - Celebrate St. Patty's in true, authentic style as the traditional music and dance of Ireland are on display in this special Sunday afternoon concert. No admission charge for this special offering of live music. Enjoy tasty treats and good eats while the music fills the air! Step-dancing, jigs and reels will be on display.
