November 1….Lubbock Fun Club Singles "SOS" Monthly Dinner - Come and enjoy friends and food at Logan’s Roadhouse. There are no reservations required. November 2....Lubbock’s Annual The Day of the Dead, or Dia de Los Muertos - Enjoy traditional holiday refreshments and the folkore with a citywide observance of the Mexican holiday. The holiday traditionally is celebrated by families in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints Day. This year’s procession will coincide with the Nov. 2 First Friday Art Trail and is free to the public.

This year’s Day of the Dead procession will visit:
5:30-6:30 p.m., International Cultural Center, 601 Indiana Ave.
6:30-7:30 p.m., Landmark Gallery, Texas Tech School of Art, 18th Street and Flint Avenue.
7:30-8:30 p.m., LHUCA’s Icehouse, 511 Ave. J.
8:30-9:30 p.m., Buddy Holly Center, 1801 Crickets Ave.

November 2….First Friday Art Trail - See the regular art venues...plus the exciting monthly additions showcasing art and artists downtown and throughout Lubbock. Catch a trolley or bus at many of the locations or pick up a FFAT map at any of the venues to see the art that can be found throughout the community each month during the event. First Friday Art Trail trolleys run continuously in downtown Lubbock during FFAT hours. Trolleys are free and you will find a "trolleyteer" on each trolley who is a treasure trove of info about FFAT and the arts in Lubbock and will help you navigate with ease. For more info and complete schedule click HERE! The trail runs throughout downtown and the Depot District from 6-9 p.m.

November 2-3….Holiday Extravaganza - Community Christian Church will host their 3rd annual Holiday Extravaganza and proceeds will go to Lubbock Meals on Wheels, The Bridge of Lubbock, and Simple Acts Prison Ministry. There will be gifts and gift baskets for all occasions, seasonal decorations, dolls and doll house furniture, an antique's corner, a go green corner, bake sale with jellies and jams, food baskets and a quilt raffle. Community Christian Church, 96th & Indiana; Nov. 2nd, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and Nov. 3rd, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

November 2-3 (Repeats Nov. 9-10, 16-17)….Cactus Theater: “Smoke on the Mountain”
- The play takes place in the sanctuary of the Mountain Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, located just west of Hickory near the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is Saturday night in June 1938. The united States is in the last years if the Great Depression. Organized religion is at its peak. Mount Pleasant Baptist has a membership if 63-64 when Becca Robinson gets baptized next Sunday. Saturday Night Sings by families of gospel singers have become the much needed and highly appreciated entertainment of the time. Gospel-singing families traditionally sing at one church on Saturday night, then do a few guest appearances on Sunday morning at other churches in the area. The Sanders are appearing tonight after a five-year hiatus from the gospel-singing circuit. They travel in an ancient bus with "The Sanders Family" hand -painted on the side. Original cast members Mike Morgan, Kenny Maines, Jane Prince Jones, Cami Caldwell and Mark Paden will be returning to reprise their roles and Dustin Garrett and Tatum Sheets will be joining the cast playing to roles of the twins! November 2-3....LOL: An Evening of Dance and Laughter from Flatlands Dance Theatre - Flatlands Dance Theatre will tickle your funny bone with an evening of rip roaring, side splitting good fun! November 3….Big XII College Football: Texas Tech vs. Texas - The Red Raiders look to regroup in the friendly confines of Jones AT&T Stadium as they tackle the 23rd ranked Texas Longhorns. 4th Street and University; 2:30 p.m.

November 3….Flatland Film Screening of "The Prize (El Premio)" - A political activist’s life-in-hiding on an isolated stretch of Argentina’s coastline is jeopardized after her seven-year old daughter is selected to participate in a local school’s patriotic essay contest. Tickets are $10, Students $5. Fire House Theatre at LHUCA, 511 Avenue K; 7 p.m.
SUNDAY Only

November 4….I am Thankful for Being a Girl Tea Party - Join your favorite princesses and Assistant Coach to the Tech ladies soccer team, Ashley Gordon, as we celebrate being girls. Enjoy tea and cookies, learn the proper etiquette for tea and a craft. Tea Party is a fundraiser for Hub Performing Arts School. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from members of the Advanced Performance Team or by calling 795-7344 or emailing hubperformingarts@att.net. A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door.
