THURSDAY ONLY

A Fun Club Special Event!

Come by TODAY, catch up with Sandy Parker, and register to win the VERY FIRST DOUBLE T Phenomino Necklace ....anywhere in town!

Sandy Parker was the founder of the Lubbock Fun Club and she has a new venture of domino pendants called Phenominoes! Phenomenal Art on Dominoes. This past December, her little "art" company merged with Puremco (the world's best dominoes!) and they are now the only company in the U.S. to offer the COLLEGIATE domino pendants. She's coming to town and is bringing 40 of them with her. But more importantly, we've arranged a time and place for friends to come by ... see Sandy ... see the new pendants up close ... and someone will be the proud owner of the FIRST PHENOMINO in Lubbock!

Everyone will meet up at The Ice Cream Shoppe, hosted by Steph and Shane, from 4 to 6 p.m. The Ice Cream Shoppe is located in the neighborhood shopping center at 26th and Boston -- just down from J&B Coffee and Hodgepodge Designs. We'll hang out in the cool '50s feel of the shop, nibble on ice cream and catch up on old times!!!

The ensemble is composed of 35 volunteers who consist of doctors, attorneys, teachers and more. The band plays many kinds of brass instruments and percussion and features a wide variety of music: marches, patriotic, show tunes and regular band music. Each performance will feature a different soloist. Tech Terrace is the sponsor for the concerts, but the band is supported by donations and about 500 people attend each show. The band will also have someone lead the children around the park in a march to the music. Starts at 8:00 p.m.

"Fun Club Cruisers" Gave New Meaning to 'Sleepless in Seattle'

Shane & Steph Return From Alaska Trek

The last leg of our journey to the GREAT NORTHWEST...and Alaska in particular....was filled with more fun (and fresh seafood!) than can be put into words. We tried to do it all...from the waterfront pier....to the Experience Music Project (incredible hands-on music museum)....to the "underground Seattle" tour at midnight our last night there....we were on adventure overload from the word go! We worked in live music, city parks, a zoo, historic hotels and so much more.

We wish all of you could have been along to join in the fun. Here's a small sampling of pics from our last leg of the incredible journey....which was really a birthday celebration for STEPH...disguised as our first big vacation together.

Shane and Steph

"Your Cruise Directors"

BELOW: Though we can barely see her in this shadowy photo, Steph stands below the iconic Space Needle....built for the 1962 World's Fair in (usually) rainy Seattle. Our weather was beautiful and sunny!

BELOW: At the Woodland Park Zoo, we saw eye to eye with a rare Komodo Dragon. We enjoyed the lush, jungle-like environment just about as well as anything on the trip.

BELOW: Austin, Texas may be "keeping things weird"....but Seattle has more murals, interesting city art, sculptures and just plain "funky stuff" than anywhere you can name! Where else would you find the amazing "art glass gate" found in front of the Boys and Girls Club (last picture of these below)?

BELOW: Well.....what can we say about our trip to Pickle-Ball world headquarters? Tucked away in the marine industrial zone, this tiny warehouse space was stacked to the ceiling (look in the window) with equipment for the game many of the Fun Club members like to play each Thursday night here in Lubbock. We were sadly disappointed that we couldn't meet up with the creators of the game....because they left rainy Seattle and moved to Hawaii!
