Thursday, August 2 - SOS Singles Monthly Dinner Out...meets at T.G.I.Friday’s, 6201 Slide Rd. at 7 p.m. Target age for this group is mid-40s and up. Don't be shy...come share a good meal and make some new friends. There's no need for reservations...so come on out and join the gang!

 

This Weekend....

Friday, August 3 - First Friday Art Trail - This monthly event showcases various works of art, in a variety of mediums - much of which is created locally in the unique and inspiring galleries, studios, businesses and restaurants of downtown Lubbock and throughout the city. Catch a trolley at many of the locations or pick up a FFAT map at any of the venues during this event. Hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is FREE and open to the public. Friday, August 3 - Outdoor Movie Night - Don’t miss an outdoor movie in Founder’s Park at Vintage Township - located at 114th and Trafalgar (between Quaker and Slide). Every other Friday evening during the summer, Vintage Township hosts an outdoor movie. The classic cartoon starts at about 9:20 with a fun family movie to follow. So pack up the kids, the dogs, the blankets and the lawn chairs and come on out for some old-fashioned family fun!

Friday thru Sunday, August 3-5 - Old Mill Trade Days in Post, Texas (located 36 miles southeast of Lubbock on U.S. Hwy. 84). Marketplace in the historic Postex Mill; great shopping, great food, great fun!

THIS UPCOMING WEEK'S FUN...
August 7 - National Night Out - Each year neighborhoods throughout Lubbock host a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, and visits from local police and fire departments. Hours are 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Look for special events planned in your particular neighborhood and be part of the action.

August 8 - Sweetwater Medicine Wagon Original Musical Revue...featured act at High Noon Concert located at the Lubbock County Courthouse gazebo. The courthouse is located downtown at Broadway and Texas Ave. Concerts are free and open to the public. Camping chairs are provided...but bring your own lawn chair or a blanket to spread on the lawn if you wish. "Turn back the clock" and enjoy this trip down memory lane during your lunch hour next Wednesday!
