This weekend is your LAST CHANCE to see the Sound of Music under the stars in the relaxation and high quality entertainment of Lubbock Moonlight Musicals!
June 15, 16 - The Sound of Music fills the audience with humor, music, and extraordinary entertainment at the Wells Fargo Amphitheatre at Mackenzie Park this weekend as Lubbock Moonlight Musicals offers America’s most loved musical. The Sound of Music was the last collaboration between composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist/librettist Oscar Hammerstein II.
PICNIC DINNERS and LAWN CHAIRS are recommended!
Wonderful musicals are so much fun sitting under the stars on a picnic blanket or in lawn chairs. You'll want to bring yours when you come set up in the designated area for your ticket type.
A wonderful example of perseverance
When you go, make sure you tell your children about how this "dream" of outdoor musicals came to be. There was a man (and a Board) who believed that Lubbock deserved this kind of theater experience "under the stars". Against all odds (which lately included rain out weekends and the loss of their sound system) they persevered. We all have hard times. Father's Day boat races at Buffalo Springs Lake this weekend
As exciting as NASCAR would be on the water, this weekend is the time to take your kids and dads to Buffalo Springs Lake for excitement and speed!
Friday: 5:30 to 7:30 is SHOW AND SHINE … meet drivers and see boats!
Saturday: Qualifying starts at 8:00 a.m.
Sunday: Church Service at 9:00, Racing at 11:00
