KNIT OUT 2006 is THIS Saturday
The Craft Yarn Council of America developed this program to bring knitting, crocheting and yarn crafts to the public’s attention. Our Lubbock KNIT OUT is this Saturday, October October 14, 12:00 Noon-5:00 pm, Hodges Center, 4011 University, Admission is Free to all ages!

Rush Elementary Fall Festival & Classic Car Show
Saturday, October 14

More than 30 activity booths, Hummer Rides, Rock Climbing Wall, Castle Jumpers, Horse Rides, Paintball, a Live & Silent Auction, Food Court and the 1st Annual Classic Car Show. You may enter your Car (Sports Car, Bike, Classic Car or Truck) in the contest for $20. Prizes and Awards will be given in several categories! It is free to come look at the cars! It will be LOTS of fun for the whole family. 12 - 4 pm

Dog Day Howloween is October 21
Be getting your dog costumes ready!

Dress your dog in a Halloween costume and join us! Prizes for the best-dressed dogs in three owner groups. Ages: All Cost: $1/dog 10-11 am Maxey Community Center 30th and Oxford 767-3796

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Kids recently got their 6-weeks report cards ... and for every "A" they received, the Climbing Wall at the Maize will give them a dollar off. That means that for someone who got 5 A's ... they get to do the climbing wall for FREE. (Must have report card with you and this offer is good through October 22.)

Friday Night Out THIS FRIDAY for Fun Club Singles Group.
Our SOS (Singles only group) is for professional adults who want to meet some nice people and make new friends.
We are going to see "Deathtrap" at the Cats Playhouse 2405 34th on Friday Oct 13th at 7:30. Adults are $8.00 and Senior citizens are $5.00. It is not recommended for children. Afterwards we will go to a great ice cream shop that is nearby. No need to call ahead. Just come! Call CATS Playhouse to get your ticket. 792-0501

October is National Pet Wellness Month
As part of the celebration of National Pet Wellness Month, Above and Beyond Pet Care Hospital is hosting an event Oct. 21st from 1-5pm at the clinic located at 3410 98th St. Suite 7. Dr. Lubenau (Dr. J) and Dr. Oden are providing free wellness exams to pets during these hours on a first come, first serve basis. They are happy to provide one free exam per household, and certain restrictions may apply (such as an emergency fee for critical cases).

October 21 - Tumbleweed Classic hosted by the Lubbock Bicycle Club in Post, Texas. This year the ride will have a mass start leaving at 9:00 AM from the Post City Park. The ride will take you up the caprock and then back down through rolling hills and valleys along lightly traveled two lane country roads. There will be rest stops approximately every 15 to 20 miles with refreshments and snacks. Porta potties will also be available at rest stops Sag vehicles will be traveling the route to assist with mechanical problems, flat tires, or worn out people. The event will be held rain or shine. All entry fees are non-refundable.
