Plan now to join us at the Maize Saturday, September 23! It's our annual FAMILY FUN DAY at the Maize.
We have a day full of fun planned for our annual Family Fun Day! This year we've expanded to the daytime and will be there from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those of you wanting to come in the evening certain may! The image to the left is the actual Maze from an aerial view! Challenge yourself, bring the kids and your camera and take some fun photos, watch their eyes light up with FUN! It's always a great time ... plus this year we've added:
Spacewalker Jumper for Kids
Storytelling in the Gazebo
How to create a Digital Story Book class/demonstration
A FauxReal Arty Party under the "big top" (tent)

A full schedule of all the fun will be posted by next week!
The Maze also has BBQ this year, so plan around a meal if you want to. There are costs for a few of the activities to cover expenses and they are entirely optional ... but we are going to have fun again at this

This Saturday - September 16
Solar Saturday at Silent Wings!

The Silent Wings Museum Education Department invites children and families out for a Saturday of exploration! Participants will do hands-on activities focused on the solar system, astronomy, and space exploration. Projects include arts and crafts, launching mini-rockets, learning primitive star navigation, and take home activities! Parents are encouraged to explore the Museum and the activity stations with their children. This is great way to get in some secret learning while having fun with the family! 1-3:00 p.m. at the Silent Wings Museum. Cost: $10 per participating child, 1 accompanying adult is free. Additional adults are $1 each (the costs include Museum Admission) Ages: All ages welcome, though most activities are structured for children 5+

Lubbock Music Festival
Chubby Checker, Pat Green, Joe Ely & more.

Twist the night away on Friday at 7 p.m. with Chubby Checker ($5), enjoy Pat Green Saturday night at 7 p.m. ($5), go see Joe Ely (FREE) at 12:30 on Saturday at the Stubbs Statue and eat a delicious BBQ ($6)
or buy a Saturday pass for all day where music is planned at one place or the other from 2 p.m. until 2 a.m. For more, see calendar>

September 14th - Open House at Reese Conference Center on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There will be actual table and chair set ups for people to see how the Conference Center is the best place for there business meetings, regional conferences as well and a variety of social events. There will be drinks, food, music and prizes to be given away the day of the event.

September 15-17, 22-24 - “Cowgirls” a very funny musical comedy by the Lubbock Community Theater is this weekend and next. More in calendar >

September 15 & 16 – Lubbock Music Festival features Friday evening street concert with with Chubby Checker, “The King of the Twist” (cost is $5), full day of music with over 50 bands, Saturday evening street concert (cost is $5) with headliner and Texas Troubadour Pat Green.

September 16 - 2nd Annual Stubb's Tailgate Party at Stubb's Memorial, 108 East Broadway, 5:00PM-7:00PM, BBQ & Live – Music, 744-2787
