May 20 - 22…..LCT: “Leading Ladies” - Written by Ken Ludwig—Writer of numerous plays including Moon Over Buffalo, I Hate Hamlet, and Lend Me a Tenor. Winner of Tony Awards for Crazy For You and Lend Me a Tenor. In this hilarious comedy, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren’t nephews, but nieces! Hilarity follows! Directed By Williams Skar. Rated PG. May 21….StarCare Specialty Health System Food Truck Fundraiser - This event is free and open to the public. Proceeds will benefit StarCare services that assist with assessment and treatment for people living with a mental illness and provide community education efforts to stamp out stigma. Choose from the following fun and creative lunch options: Blue Oasis Italian Ice and Ice Cream; Cheese Chicks; Hank’s BBQ & Catering; J & D Bar-B-Que; La Pasadita; Owens Lunch and Go, LLC.; and Red Stone Pizza. Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot (5022 W. Loop 289); 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

May 21….Guided Trail Hike at Copper Breaks State Park - Park Volunteer, Scout Leader, and hiking enthusiast Jamie Slaugenhop will lead a trail walk and talk at 3 p.m. The hike will be along the park’s Bull Canyon Trail, part of the park’s Big Loop Trail network. The trails are for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The Big Loop network also includes The Juniper Ridge Trail and the Equestrian Trail. In addition to the trail walk, the regular Saturday “Meet the Longhorns” program will be presented at 2 p.m. Copper Breaks State Park events are free with regular park admission of $2.00 for adults. For more information on the trail walk, Meet the Longhorns, or other park events or facilities, contact the park daily during business hours at (940)839-4331. Copper Breaks State Park is located 13 miles south of Quanah and eight miles north of Crowell on State Highway 6.

May 21….Night Hike at Lubbock - Join us at 8:15 p.m., to experience the nocturnal nature of Yellowhouse Draw and tour the night sky at our "Landmark After Dark" night hike. As always, Night Hikes are held, weather permitting. Dress comfortably and wear sturdy, close-toed shoes. Lubbock Lake Landmark, 2401 Landmark Drive; 7 – 9 p.m.

May 21….A Tribute to Foreigner / Styx / REO Speedwagon - These three bands covered lots of territory in the late '70s and through the '80s. From "Hot Blooded" to "Babe" to "Time For Me To Fly" - come relive this trbute to the classic bands that defined a decade plus of great rock. May 22….Benefit Recital “One Milllion Meals For Ecuador, One Note at a Time” - Join us for a special benefit concert entitled: "One Million Meals for Ecuador, One Note at a Time." Very talented artists from TTU - School of Music and the Lubbock community will be performing to support Ecuador Earthquake Relief. The Texas Tech Community and the Ecuadorian Community in Lubbock have joined forces to offer this benefit concert for Ecuador. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy great music and support the people of Ecuador after they suffered a devastating earthquake on April 16th. The recital will primarily showcase music composed or influenced by Latin American and Spanish composers. Reception to follow. Suggested donation is $10.00.
