January 29….5th Friday Slaton on the Square - Come out and experience an old fashioned night on the town in downtown Slaton! The Town Square Antique Mall and Museum, the Model Railroad Studio, the Slaton Bakery, Quilts 'n More, and the Art Galleries will be open and ready to greet you! Multiplicity Art Gallery will be featuring beautiful new paintings by Marsha Davis. Marsha will be available to share the inspiration for each of her paintings. Local and area artists will be available to meet you! Judy Robertson's fused glass and mixed media works, Cecily Maples' pottery and porcelain jewelry; Roger Holmes', Wayne Greene and Tom Hicks' pottery; Yvonne Greene's drawings; Donna Rose, Christena Stephens, Willa Finley and Jerry Thompson's photography; Jennifer Greer's paper pattern pottery; Susan Sheets' oil paintings; and Ruth Shamblin's jewelry. Plus we will have Valentine cards and cute gifts for that special someone. January 29 - 30….Relentless 2016 Marriage and Family Conference – Please join this free, 2-day event featuring best selling author Dr. Kevin Lehman. On day one, Dr. Lehman will discuss marriage and understanding the man or woman in your life. It will take place from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. with live music and appetizers. On day two, Dr. Lehman will discuss parenting especially parenting the powerful child from 9 a.m.- noon. Live music and a light breakfast will be included. January 30....The Roundtable presents: Eric Strong, Roots Historical Arts Council: Transforming East Lubbock Utilizing Arts & Culture (Re-scheduled from January 23rd) - Our luncheons are held at Hillcrest Country Club 4011 N Boston Ave, Lubbock. North on University past State Living Facility to Newcomb, left for about 4 blocks and you will come to the entrance of the Hillcrest Country Club at Boston and Newcomb. Meeting Format: People arrive about 11 a.m. to start registering, pay for lunch and some socializing. Food service starts at 11:15 followed by introductions and announcements at 11:30. The speaker will start about 11:50 and be finished with the program and questions from the audience by 1 p.m. The public is invited. Lunch/attendance is fifteen dollars ($15) per person. Limited menu includes beverage and dessert. There are no membership fees or dues associated with attending the functions. Any extra monies that you would like to contribute will go towards the speakers lunch and towards our Honors College Scholarship fund at Tech. Our Saturday luncheons are a great way to (1) learn more about current global/US/Texas/Lubbock issues and events, (2) meet other people in area who may become lifetime friends (3) feel more at home in Lubbock. Most wear business or business-casual attire. No RSVP is necessary. Volunteer for Veterans' Valentines!


February 1… Monday Night Magic: Musical Theater Class -
Do you have a talented kid who loves to act, sing and dance?? Time to put them on stage and watch them shine! Monday Night Magic is the perfect place! This fun class is a great way to get started in Acting, Singing and Dance or a low commitment if your student loves to perform but just doesn't have the time for a full show! The class meets once a week on Mondays 5:30-7:00 for twelve weeks. At the end of the semester, students will perform a short musical. Everyone is guaranteed a part! We will be gathering to socialize with other volunteers and those who would like to make a Valentine card for a veteran or hospice patient are welcome to. Materials will be provided as well as light refreshments.
