August 28, 29. 30….Hub City Comic-Con - Jake Lloyd (Anakin in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), Nakia Burrise, (the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo/Turbo), Catherine Sutherland (the Pink Ranger in Power Rangers: Mighty Morphin, Zeo, and Turbo), and Sam de la Rosa (artist for Marvel and Disney, and best known for Spider-Man and Venom) have all been announced as attending. According to the
convention coordinator other guests are planned. The convention will also host an official Playstation sanctioned tournament. Comic and toy vendor are expected to have wares, while artists and authors are expected to have their own materials for sell as well. Cost for the convention is $20, with a $5 fee for Civic Center use. The $20 dollar cost gets the attendee admission to the convention on both Saturday and Sunday. Access for Friday requires a VIP pass that will be $100. Purchase of the VIP pass will also allow the attendee to enter the convention early on Saturday and Sunday. August 29....Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market - Held each Saturday, June through October, this unique gathering of area producers, specialty food and beverage providers and select artisans specializing in homegrown or homemade. Held in the Depot District area, this weekly event has become a highlight of the summer months and offers something for everyone.
