FRIDAY through SUNDAY

May 17-19
....Lubbock Community Theatre: "Daddy’s Dyin’ Who’s Got the Will?" - As a dysfunctional family gathers to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a disabling stroke, cat fights and rumors swirl around who will get what when the will is read. Without becoming ponderous, losing a sense of humor or pandering to timeworn clichés about Texans or Texas drawls, the story shares many elements of a good summer novel: it's fast and delicious...with funny, tense, touching moments and characters you care about. Written by Del Shores and directed by Jay C. Brown. Rated PG-13. Tickets can be reserved by calling (806) 749-2416. Lubbock Community Theatre, 4230 Boston Avenue; Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
