June 7….Buddy Holly Center Summer Showcase Concert Series: hONEyhoUSe (Blues/Soul/Funk/Americana) - The Buddy Holly Center is gearing up for another hot summer of music and fun with the annual Summer Showcase Concert Series May 31st – August 30th. The Summer Showcase experience is an entertaining and modern environment, where patrons can enjoy original and unique Texas-made music. FREE to the public. There will be a cash bar and beverages available for purchase. Please, no outside beverages are allowed in the venue. Buddy Holly Center Meadows Courtyard, 1801 Crickets Avenue; 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

June 7….Lubbock Fun Club Singles "SOS" Monthly Dinner - Come and enjoy friends and food at On the Border restaurant. There are no reservations required. Come prepared to have a great time and share a meal together! Tell a friend or bring a friend...but whatever you do, come join the fun and meet some new friends! June 8….Blues Brothers Tribute
- Covering the best material from the original "Blues Brothers" as well as other classic blues, funk, and soul tunes in a style unique to the "Brotherhood". Featuring the Lubbock Texas Rhythm Machine and Jason Fellers as Ellwood, Dustin Garrett as Jake, Don Caldwell as Ray Charles, Sheena Fadeyi as Aretha Franklin, and Anthony Francis as Cab Calloway and John Lee Hooker. June 8, 9 (Repeats June 15, 16, 22, 23)….Children and Adults Theatrical Studio: "Mind Over Matt" - This hilarious show, "Mind Over Matt" was written by Scott Hahn the same author of "Insane With Power", and is directed by Rolando "Doc" Rivera. If you saw and liked "Insane With Power," you will love "Mind Over Matt." Ticket prices are $8.00 for students and seniors, and $10.00 for adults. Space is limited so make your reservations ASAP! June 8, 9 (Repeats June 15, 16, 22, 23)….Lubbock Moonlight Musicals: Disney’s "My Son, Pinocchio: Geppetto’s Musical Tale" -
Have you ever wished upon a star? Then you must come see Disney’s My Son, Pinocchio: Geppetto’s Musical Tale under Lubbock's stunning night sky at the Wells Fargo Amphitheatre this June! Grammy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz composes vibrant new music for this timeless Disney tale of a wooden puppet who wishes to be a real boy. Disney’s My Son, Pinocchio: Geppetto’s Musical Tale features classics such as “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings.” The twist with this stage version of the Pinocchio story is that it is narrated from Geppetto’s point of view! Re-discover this charming tale all over again and share it with those you love. All summer performances will be outdoors in the Wells Fargo Amphitheater in beautiful Mackenzie Park. The audience is encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and personal lawn chairs or blankets. Seating is on grassy terraces. Tickets are $28 for preferred seating (in the center) and $20 for general admission seating on the sides. June 9….Spring Gathering of the National Cowboy Symposium & Celebration - The National Cowboy Symposium & Celebration, Inc. announces a brand new Spring Gathering Event that will include a chuck wagon dinner and an evening performance of Bob Wills Texas Swing music. Award-winning chuck wagon cooks will serve authentic fare. The Dutch oven and iron skillet prepared meal will include chicken fried steak, potatoes and gravy, bread, and dessert along with tea or the new NCSC "Chuck Wagon" blend coffee. The evening will continue with the night performance of Bob Wills Texas Swing music inside the Civic Center Theatre. June 9….The Flatlanders: 40th Anniversary Tour - The legendary Lubbock trio - Joe Ely, Butch Hancock and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, collectively known as The Flatlanders - return home for what promises to be another special concert event in the intimate Cactus Theater. Celebrating 40 years since their formation and landmark 1972 recording that became an underground treasure, this show is one not to be missed for serious Lubbock music fans. June 9-10….Celebrating Our Heroes at Silent Wings Museum – Included in the celebration will be a fly in of the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team and their vintage C-47 "Boogie Baby", a historical marker dedication, living history groups, the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross.

June 9-10….Llano Estacado Wine and Clay Festival
– Come and celebrate 2 great arts of the earth. The Llano Estacado Clay guild will fill the cellars of Llano Estacado Winery with the creations and wares of local artists. Demonstrations of clay techniques will be scheduled throughout the day and features local artists. In addition to the clay art the festival includes invited painters, photographers, sculptors and jewelers. Come out for some fun and enjoy music by Kenny Maines. Wine tasting tables will be set-up throughout Llano Estacado Winery. Admission is free. Llano Estacado Winery, 3.2 miles East of US 87 South on FM 1585. Saturday, the event starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Sunday the event starts at 12 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

June 10….Westwinds Brass Band Concert in the Park – Come and enjoy an old fashioned Concert In the Park, performed by the Westwinds Brass Band. Traditional brass band music, marches, overtures, outstanding soloists, and our traditional favorite...the kid's march. Bring your blankets & lawn chairs and enjoy an hour of fun music-- maybe even a picnic supper! Concerts are sponsored by the Tech Terrace Neighborhood Association. Admission is always FREE and everyone is welcome. Wagner Park, 26th St. and Flint Ave; 8 p.m.- 9 p.m.
